<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color liquid crystal display wherein yield of a TFT is enhanced and a high transmittance and a high aperture ratio can be simultaneously attained. <P>SOLUTION: The display is constituted of a first substrate having a plurality of pixel electrodes, a plurality of switching elements connected to the plurality of pixel electrodes, a plurality of color filters corresponding to the pixel electrodes on the first substrate, an over coating layer disposed between the pixel electrodes and the switching elements and in a space between the color filters adjacent to each other, a plurality of contact holes penetrated between the pixel electrodes and the switching elements which are connected to each other, penetrated in the over coating layer and disposed away from the color filters, a second substrate disposed so as to be opposed to the first substrate and an electrooptical material interposed between the first and the second substrates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
