PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black-and-white heat developable sensitive material having high sensitivity and high image quality and an image forming method, and to particularly provide an improved black-and-white heat developable sensitive material giving a clear image with little haze and an image forming method. SOLUTION: The black-and-white heat developable sensitive material contains at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder on one surface of a support, wherein≥30% of the total projected area of the photosensitive silver halide grains is occupied by tabular grains having an aspect ratio of≥2, the grains have epitaxial bonds and a proportion of the epitaxial bonds bonding to vertexes is 1/6 to 2/3 of the number of the vertexes of the grains.
