PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable degree of probe degradation or the degree of the change in a protector to be discriminated, by mounting an element which discriminates the presence or the absence of factors contributing to the probe degradation or factors contributing to the changes in the protector, on a solid phase probe array or the like, and by reading changes in the element. SOLUTION: The probe-fixing substrate which is a probe-fixing substrate where a probe capable of specifically bonding to a target substance is fixed on the substrate, further includes an element which detects an environmental change being a contributing factor of the change in the probe-fixing substrate.
