PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source by which a semiconductor laser can be stably operated over a long time, optical pickup equipment, and an electronic apparatus. SOLUTION: The light source has a light-outgoing side. There are provided a semiconductor light-emitting diode radiating a light from a part of the light-outgoing side, and a light transmission window through which the light is transmitted. There are provided a vessel for housing the semiconductor light-emitting diode, and a gettering portion for performing a gettering of a substance including at least one of carbon and silicon.
