<p>The bottles to be cleaned pass in succession through an initial gate (6), a lye bath (5), and several spraying and flushing zones. After passing through the first spray zone, all or part of the processing water is extracted, and divided by reverse osmosis into salt-free clean water and saline residual water, being returned respectively to one of the spraying and flushing zones and the to bottle-cleaning machine. Immediately after extraction from the spray zone and cleaning in a filter, reverse osmosis is carried out. The residual water is returned to the gate (6), and fresh water is supplied to the machine dependent on the amount of clean water returned, typically to the last spray zone but one. The cleaned processing water can be neutralised before osmosis, and set to a pH value of between 7 and 12. After extraction, the water can be cooled, the heat recovered being returned to the water in the gate.</p> |
