The device has a gimbal suspension (4) with outer and inner rings (41, 42) including a gyroscope (3), where the rings are orthogonal to each other. A driving motor rotates the gyroscope so that an angular momentum vector of the gyroscope coincides with its rotation and main inertia axes. The rotation axes and the vector determine spatial orientation of axes of a plate on a circular table of a machine tool based on plate movement. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a machine tool with a device for determining a spatial orientation of two rotation axes of a plate on a circular table (B) a procedure for determining a spatial orientation of two rotation axes of a plate on a circular table.
