<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system and an on-vehicle unit for preventing the interference of proceding and succeeding vehicles in radio communication between a road side unit and an on-vehicle unit mounted on a vehicle in order to correctly execute radio communication processing. <P>SOLUTION: This radio communication system is configured of an on-vehicle unit 110 and a road side unit 130. The on-vehicle unit 110 is provided with: a DSRC communication part A112 for executing DSRC communication with the road side unit 130; a light receiving part 116 for detecting infrared rays transmitted from the road side unit 130; a storage part 115 for storing an entry time or the like; and a control part A111 for controlling an optical antenna A117 to start radio communication with the road side unit 130 after receiving the infrared rays from an optical antenna B135 of the road side unit 130. The road side unit 130 is provided with a DSRC antenna B133 for transmitting/receiving the DSRC signal with the on-vehicle unit 110, an optical antenna B135 for transmitting the infrared rays, a control part B131, a DSRC communicating part B132, and a light transmitting/receiving part B134. Thus, the influence of interference due to the reflection/diffraction of radio waves or the like is prevented for executing radio communication. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
