PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display in which a display defect can be corrected so as to obtain higher display quality than a liquid crystal display corrected by a conventional defect correcting method, and to provide a method for manufacturing the display (defect correcting method). SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display comprises: an active matrix substrate 50 on which pixel electrodes 6 and TFTs 5 connected to the pixel electrodes 6 are arranged in a matrix; a counter substrate opposing to the active matrix substrate 50; and a liquid crystal layer held between the substrates; wherein a pixel is defined corresponding to each pixel electrode 6. A conductive layer 14 is disposed on the active matrix substrate 50 and functions as a defect correcting means to electrically connect the pixel electrode 6 of each pixel to the TFT 5 in the next pixel adjacent in one direction to the pixel electrode 6 so that when a pixel is a defective pixel, the defective pixel can be corrected.
