PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a setting time when setting protection to all files. SOLUTION: A digital camera has a system controller 3 capable of setting the lump-sum protection of the effect that it is read-only to all the files inside a recording medium 2. The system controller 3 has: a first selection function of retrieving a file already set with the lump-sum protection; a second selection function of retrieving the residual files except the files already set with the lump-sum protection; and a function of setting the lump-sum protection to the residual files.
