<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an individual authentication system using living body collation, efficiently using comparatively large-capacity living body characteristic data, and capable of applying them to the living body collation. <P>SOLUTION: This individual authentication system comprises: a registration terminal 1 registering summary data generated from the living body characteristic data by a summary data generation process (a hash function), and inputted user specific data into an IC card; and a living body collation terminal 2 comparing the living body characteristic data obtained by photography of a camera with a large number of pieces of living body characteristic data included in a dictionary, selecting the living body characteristic data included in the dictionary satisfying prescribed similarity conditions, generating the summary data from the selected living body characteristic data by the summary data generation process, transmits them to the IC card, and receiving sending-out of the user specific data already registered in the IC card to perform a log-on process under the condition that collation of the summary data already registered in the IC card and the summary data transmitted to the IC card is concluded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
