METHOD FOR CONTROLLING WAVELENGTH VARIABLE OPTICAL FILTER AND WAVELENGTH VARIABLE OPTICAL FILTER SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform wavelength detection with high accuracy by compensating the temperature fluctuation in a wavelength variable optical filter while having a function to follow up the wavelength of signal light. SOLUTION: A target transmission position is intermittently controlled by dithering and while the intermittent control is performed, the selection wavelength corresponding to the target transmission position is calculated by a reference table and is determined as an assigned wavelength. Temperatures are acquired at time intervals to finely segment the prescribed time intervals in such a manner that the assigned wavelength is maintained regardless of temperature changes. The fresh target transmission position corresponding to the temperatures is again derived from the reference table and the transmission position is sequentially controlled in such a manner that the transmission position coincides with the fresh target transmission position.
