LIGHTING SYSTEM AND ILLUMINATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely carry out checkout even in a place where an instantaneous power fault tends to take place or in a place allowing a checking switch to be easily pushed, in a lighting system for lighting a lamp by a secondary battery in a power fault.

SOLUTION: This lighting system comprises: a lighting means for lighting the lamp 2 by power supply from the secondary battery 1 in a power fault; a checking means for forcibly lighting the lamp 2 over a predetermined checking time by the lighting means to check the secondary battery 1; a monitoring means for always monitoring a plurality of operation states including a charge state of the secondary battery 1; and a counting means for counting at least one of a charge time and a discharge time of the secondary battery 1. The lighting system is so structured that, when a power fault occurs while the counting means is counting the charge time, the counting means continues the charge time count after the recovery of power from the state immediately before the power fault occurrence without initializing the count value if the power fault is ended in a short time.
