PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge which can store as much an ink as possible and stably discharge the ink. SOLUTION: In this ink cartridge, an ink storage part 2 which stores the ink in a container main body 1 formed in the shape of a box with a small thickness and an ink supply part 3 which supplies the ink to the outside are provided. The ink storage part 2 is constituted of a wide ink storage chamber 10 which stores the ink; a narrow intermediate chamber 14 communicating with the ink storage chamber 10; and an ink supply chamber 15 which communicates with the intermediate chamber 14 and is internally equipped with a negative pressure generating member 16. The ink storage chamber 15 and the intermediate chamber 14 communicate with each other by means of an ink pipe 20, and the ink pipe 20 comprises an ink intake 21 arranged in the ink storage chamber 10; an ink discharge aperture 22 arranged in the intermediate chamber 14; and a tubular capillary part 23 formed which is formed in a vertically feeding/returning pattern in the wall surface which connects the ink intake 21 with the ink discharge aperture 22 and forms the ink storage chamber 10.
