PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera monitoring system for monitoring traffic situation and applying image processing whose fault detection result having a higher correct answer rate to match with the judgment of a watchman. SOLUTION: The camera monitoring system stores an image signal processing algorithm in an image processing portion 1 for processing video image information by a camera 4 to judge fault events, data such as operating parameters, and fault event judgment results into a data server 25, along with a time information (time tag). Consequently, three kinds of estimation results, a watchman's correct detection, wrong detection as a fault event, and failure in detection, can be compared and collated. The stored data and the evaluation results are collated and analyzed. As a result, a control unit 24 controls and adjusts the image processing portion 1 so as to be able to detect fault events correctly, in order to improve the correct answer rate.
