PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen device for a fire compartment, which can seat a screen to an appropriate location of a floor surface, even if wind pressure or the like is applied thereto in the event of a fire, to thereby positively partition a fire side from a non-fire side. SOLUTION: The screen device is formed of the screen (2) for being hung from a ceiling to partition an interior space of a building form the other area, guide means (5) for vertically guiding both ends of the screen (2), and a binding means (13) for binding a lower end of the screen (2) to the floor surface (6) facing the screen. The guide means (5) each have a detecting means (14) for detecting that the lower end (7) of the screen (2) is hung to a location within a predetermined height (H) from the floor surface (6). Upon detection by the detecting means (14), the binding means (13) is switched from a binding-released position to a binding attitude (F). Then the binding means (13) in the binding attitude (F) binds the lower end (7) of the screen (2) hung to the location within the predetermined height (H) from the floor surface (6), to thereby inhibit the lower end (7) from moving horizontally.
