<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten the burden of a marking operation on an answerer of a mark-sheet of an automatic read system as a principle purpose since the answerer is forced to securely paint out narrow ranges in frames, such as ○, O, " " , and quadrangle, which are arrayed and have no meaning, to greatly be burdened because conventional known systems employ such a method in many cases and this defect makes marksheets of the automatic read system unpopular with answerers. <P>SOLUTION: Table data obtained by recognizing as a table a table, which has a plurality of fields specified as mark fields and arbitrary characters or blanks in the respective mark fields specified as places to be marked and has been marked by entering figures into the characters or blanks, by an OCR having both a character recognizing function and a ruled-line recognizing function are processed to recognize whether the mark fields are marked on the basis of whether character strings in the mark fields compared with original character strings are different, and also identify mark positions on the basis of positions of the mark fields in the table. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
