<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing the degradation in image density due to a decrease in toner specific density when passing long-sized recording paper. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a developing device 13 of a toner density self-control system having a function to maintain the toner density of a developer at the prescribed density by self-controlling the toner density of the two-component developer composed of the toner and magnetic particles.
