<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep high speed and prevent a deterioration of image quality in image reproduction in a distributed parallel transcoder system and a distributed parallel transcoding method for dividing moving image data per sequence and transcoding in parallel processes. <P>SOLUTION: The distributed parallel transcoder system, in which moving image data are separated per sequence and the transcoding operation in parallel is carried out, includes a segment dividing unit for dividing the motion image data into two or more segments in unit of sequence, two or more video image coding unit for transcoding each segment, and a coupling unit for carrying out coupling process of each segment which was encoded by two or more video imaging coding units at a scene change unit.
