<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid many problems associated with leakage and failure due to the slip of a catheter, by means of a port stem capable of ensuring secured connection between an access port and the catheter. <P>SOLUTION: The implantable access port comprises a housing having a fluid chamber and an access aperture in fluid communication with the fluid chamber, wherein the access aperture is covered with a septum; the port stem extending from the housing and having an inner lumen forming a channel in fluid communication with the fluid chamber; and a marking for providing guidance to a user for arrangement of the catheter over the port stem, wherein the marking is located on the port stem between a distal end of the port steam and a proximal end of the port stem. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
