<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component supplying apparatus for facilitating reel exchange and tape connection and improving the productivity in component mounting. <P>SOLUTION: A turnable support arm 11 for supporting a reel 12 and a lock mechanism 10 capable of preventing the turn of the support arm 11 are provided on a reel mounting portion 3. The reel 12 pulled up from the operation position A, where it supplies the component, by the turn of the support arm 11 can be locked and held at a predetermined exchange position C by the lock mechanism 10. Preferably, in the position C, the reel 12 feeds a component supplying tape 30 at a position nearly on the extension line of the main surface 15 of a tape transfer path 14 provided on the component supplying apparatus 1. The lock mechanism 10 is constituted of a rocking cam 17 and a cam driving piece 18.
