<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direction detection method for enabling a driver to perform operation safely with onboard equipment without staring at an apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: After a position of an object stands still for a specified period within a specified area or stays in a state of little movement, it moves just for a specified distance in a specified direction, and moves for a specified distance in the direction opposite to the specified direction.
