PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal processing apparatus capable of controlling a gain of a video signal of an analog input without the need for a video amplifier and a transistor for analog signal gain control located in an analog signal input path of an AD converter. SOLUTION: The video signal processing apparatus is provided with: an AD converter for receiving a video signal and converting it into a digital signal; a clamp means for clamping the input video signal; a system control means; a sigma delta modulation section controlled on the basis of the system control means; a DA converter for receiving an output from the sigma delta modulation section and converting it into an analog signal; and a feedback means for controlling an optional reference level related to an input range of the AD converter by using an output signal from the DA converter for an input gain control signal and relatively controlling a digital output value of the AD converter corresponding to an input level of the input video signal to the AD converter.
