PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified polypropylene having high affinity between polypropylene and a polar material, excellent in storage stability of a solution and having high surface smoothness after coating when used for primer, etc. and to provide a method for producing the modified polypropylene. SOLUTION: The modified polypropylene is obtained by graft-bonding 0.1-100 units derived from a one or more kinds of modifying agents selected from a group consisting of (meth)acrylic acid, styrene, dicarboxylic acid, dicarboxylic anhydride and derivatives thereof on a polypropylene in which the value of a racemic dyad fraction [r] measured by<SP>13</SP>C-NMR is 0.12-0.49 and the weight average molecular weight is 5,000-500,000 .
