PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly calculates a saturation degree of blood oxygen in an artery in consideration of the variation of an artery pulse, the variation of a venous pulse, and a cell and optical variation, etc. SOLUTION: Calculation is conducted in conformity to an arithmetic expression through the use of five, four or two biospectroscopic signals in a spectroscopic region of hemoglobin absorption.
