PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator brake control device capable of determining abnormality of an electromagnetic brake in a short time without being affected by the oscillation of a car by passengers in an elevator. SOLUTION: When a car 1 is stopped on a floor 2, the braking command Bs is output from a control device 20, contacts 13a and 13b are opened to de-energize a brake coil 11b, and an electromagnetic brake 11 starts the braking operation. When a brake switch 12 detects that a permanent magnet type synchronous motor 6 is braked by the electromagnetic brake 11, a power converter 27 shuts off the power Pm supplied to the motor 6. The pulse signals P within a predetermined time from a pulse generator 10 coupled with the motor 6 are counted, and if the counted value exceeds the predetermined slip detection value, the slip of the electromagnetic brake 11 is detected.
