FILTER SYSTEM COMPRISING A FLEXIBLE FILTER ELEMENT

A flexible filter (3) is held within a rigid frame (2) comprising a circular upright gas-permeable array of rigid rods (2). The filter action is driven by pulse gas action. Scouring gas is injected via a central tube (4) surrounded by a gas guide pipe (5) that abstracts process air. The lower end of the filter further has a conical baffle (6) located beneath the gas inlet pipe (4). The conical baffle redirects gas towards the inner face of the filter medium. The injector pipe, surrounding gas guide pipe and baffle unit are height-adjustable. The gas-guide pipe is an inverted truncated cone. The conical baffle has a concave outer surface and terminates in a pointed apex.
