The supply installation has a number of electrical loads (3) spaced along a voltage supply bus (1), connected to a central device (9) with at least one supply voltage input and supply voltage output (A,B). Each supply voltage output is checked for detection of a short-circuit, with a switching device controlled to allow the voltage to be supplied to the output only after verification that a short-circuit is not present.
