PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a course guidance suitable for 3-D intersection. SOLUTION: When the subsequent guided intersection is a 3-D intersection, a pictorial pattern data and an arrow pattern data at the 3-D intersection are read out of a map data memory medium, covering an road approaching the guided intersection or a road leaving it and a course guidance map using the pictorial and arrow patterns is displayed on a display device (step 107); and 3-D expression information corresponding to the arrow pattern data is obtained from the map data memory medium to produce data for guiding voice (step 109), for generating the guiding voice, using the 3-D expression (step 106). For example, when the vehicle reaches a point of getting off an overhead road of the national road no.23, the guiding voice of the 3-D saying 'the vehicle is getting off the national road no.23 soon', or when a vehicle reaches a point of coming up on an overhead road of the national road no.23, the guiding voice is make to generate 'the vehicle is coming up onto the national road no.23 soon'. |
