The mechanical connection (8) joins first (2) and second (3) straps together. A joggled (16) and hooked (10) spring (14) end of the second strap engages in an aperture (9) in the first strap. The strap ends are pushed together so that they overlap and are clamped together by the spring portion. An outwardly bent end of the second strap facilitates engagement.
