PURPOSE: To simply and certainly repair a tire by forming a through-hole to the damaged part of the tire and inserting a conical plug member larger than the through-hole in the tire from the through-hole and engaging the lock member on the outside of the through-hole with the connection member of the plug member to fix the lock member to the wall part around the through-hole. CONSTITUTION: The damaged part P of a tire W is circularly hollowed out to form a through-hole 12 and a circular recessed part 14 having depth not damaging tire cords 13 is formed to the outer periphery of the through-hole 12. Next, an adhesive is applied to the outer surface of a plug member 2 and the skirt part 5 of the rear peripheral edge of the plug member and the main body part 2a of the plug member 2 is inserted in the through-hole 12 to bond the adhesive to the through-hole 12 so as to place a part thereof on the skirt part 5 of the rear peripheral edge of the main body part 2a. When the connection member 2b of the plug member 2 is pulled toward the outside of the tire W in this state, the skirt part 5 of the main body part 2a is closely bonded to the inner surface of the tire W to perfectly close the through-hole 12 from the inside. Finally, the skirt part 5 of the plug member 2 is closely bonded to the inner surface of the wall part 15 around the through-hole 12. |
