Bus system for an airplane

An aircraft data bus system extends the CAN bus data packet identification field (2) to identify the receiver including a fixed zone for individual addressing of aircraft subsystems with most significant bits (4) used for highest priority systems, least significant (8) for the ATA header and another field (6) for aircraft specific system codes. Independent claims are included for procedures used by the data bus system.
