The device has a transport channel (30) in which a wrapping-paper web (25) is transported. A conveying slide (15) is arranged for movement inside the transport channel for transporting the wrapping-paper web in the transport channel. An independent claim is also included for transporting a wrapping-paper web in a machine used in the tobacco industry.
