The procedure, in which the fluid is treated by coagulation/ flocculation, decantation or flotation clarification, and filtration stages using micro-, ultra-, nano- or hyper-filtration membranes, uses a double injection of one or more coagulation reagents, amounting respectively to 72 - 125 per cent of the optimal dose for coagulation or to nullify the Zeta potential (Zp) in advance of the clarification stage, and 0.1 - 25 per cent of the optimal dose to nullify the Zp in a second zone in advance of the membrane filtration stage. The injections can be madse with a mixture of coagulation reagents, and with different reagents injected in the first and second zones. In addition, the water used to clean the filtartion membranes is recirculated back to the start of the clarification stage. |
