<p>Disclosed is an intervertebral implant shaped as a three-dimensional body (10), comprising: a) a top side (1) and a bottom side (2) used for the positioning thereof against the end plates of two adjacent vertebral bodies; b) a left-hand surface (3) and a right-hand surface (4); c) a front surface (5) and a rear surface (6); d) a horizontal central plane (7) located between the top side (1) and the bottom side (2); e) a vertical central plane (8) located between the left-hand surface (3) and the right-hand surface (4); and f) a plurality of bore holes (9) penetrating the body (10), which receive longitudinal fixing elements (20) and the axes (19) of which intersect the horizontal central plane (7). At least one of said bore holes (9) is configured in such a way that a longitudinal fixing element (10) that is received therein can be connected in a rigid manner to the intervertebral implant. This procedure is carried out effectively by means of a screw thread or corresponding cone-shaped surfaces.</p> |
