The process involves obtaining a fuel-air mixture with an excess of air in a cylinder (10), during an inlet phase of an internal combustion engine and realizing the combustion of the air-fuel mixture in the cylinder. A post injection of fuel is carried out, during an exhaust phase of the engine, to obtain reheat with excess air in upstream of a charged drive stage (42) of a turbo-compressor.
