PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector the size of which is reduced and which is strong also against prying by the side of a mating connector. SOLUTION: The electric connector 10 includes an insulating housing 20 in which a plurality of conductive terminals 40 are mounted, and a metal shell 30 covering the outer surface of this housing 20. The metal shell 30 has first, second side boards 31, 32 which become substantially parallel to each other and which are opposed to each other. Nails 311, 321 are continuously extended from a substantially center of the edges of the side boards 31, 32. The metal shell 30 further has a third side board 33 for connecting the first, and second side boards 31, 32. A pawl piece 24 of cross-sectional L-shape provided integrally with the housing 20 is engaged with the edge outside of this third side board 33. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
