PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relatively simplify the apparatus arrangement while supporting many variations of streams to be processed. SOLUTION: Management information (HDVR_VMGI/profile information) of a disk includes option support information for designating a combination of a base format (Base) and one or more options (Option 1, Option 2). An apparatus using this disk specifies predetermined types of decoding formats (decoding of streams corresponding to marks○in the combinations in the table) on the basis of the contents (option support flag = 00, 01, 02, or 03) of this option support information.
