PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording head which can suppress leakage of remanent magnetism to the recording medium and stably preserve the information recorded on a medium, a head suspension assembly, a magnetic recording device, a combined head, and a magnetic recording and reproducing device thereof. SOLUTION: A recess 100 is formed with its length direction parallel to the recording surface of a magnetic disk 2 on a side surface of a recording magnetic pole 31 of a write head. By this set up, the recording magnetic pole 31 produces shape anisotropy and controls the orientation of the magnetic moment at the tip when not recording. In this manner, the remanent magnetism on the recording magnetic pole 31 is suppressed in the direction to the medium, and prevented from leaking to the medium, thus realizing a reliable perpendicular magnetic recording head which can stabilize the recorded information.
