PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a machine tool capable of previously preventing wrong operation of the machine tool without returning to the original fundamental parameter after operating the machine tool based on a variable parameter by temporarily changing the fundamental parameter. SOLUTION: A control program is stored in a RAM23 connected with a CPU12 of the control device 11, in which a parameter storage region 24 is formed. The CPU12 is provided with a parameter collating function collating whether the fundamental parameter SP stored in the parameter storage area 24 and the variable parameter CP are in agreement. The collation result of the parameters is displayed on a CRT display 15. An operator checks the collation result on the screen, and determines whether a temporary operation of the machine tool is performed based on the variable parameter CP of disagreement.
