PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To immediately stop the operation of a machine operated through speech recognition when the machine does not move as intended owing to a wrong speech command etc., or when an operator enters an uncommandable state to fall down. SOLUTION: For the machine operated through speech recognition having a portable speech command transmitter 1 and a speech operation controller 2 which is installed on the machine side and controls the driving of a driving part 9 of the machine, a safety device is disclosed which is equipped with: a portable wireless transmitter 12 which transmits a wireless signal 14 with a switch 13 ON; a wireless receiver 19 which receives, on the machine side, the wireless signal 14 of the wireless transmitter 12; an interlock contact 20 arranged in the speech operation controller 2; and an interlock circuit 21 which makes the wireless receiver 19 output a driving control signal 10 to the machine by making the interlock contact 20 on when the wireless receiver 19 receives the wireless signal 14, and cuts off the driving control signal 10 to the machine by breaking the interlock contact 20 when the wireless receiver 19 does not receive the wireless signal 14.
