PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device and image recording method capable of shortening a standby time while suppressing development unevenness at the time of recording images to films of different sizes. SOLUTION: The image recording method comprises storing a plurality of image data, detecting the film sizes requested by respective pieces of the image data, selecting the plurality of the image data by each of the same widthwise sizes based on the detection results of the film sizes, subjecting the films composed of silver salt photosensitive materials to record based on the selected image data, and heat developing the exposed films, then subjecting the films of the same widthwise sizes to record continuously relating to another selected image data.
