PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deformation and breakage of an ice making vessel 11, and facilitate the knowledge of a thermal storage amount without causing a jet of water 13. SOLUTION: An insulating lid 12 covers an opening of the ice making vessel 11 so that a water surface in the region will freeze last. The pressure of freezing thus escapes to the atmosphere without acting on the ice making vessel 11 and unfrozen water 13 to keep the ice making vessel 11 from deformation and breakage. The removal of the insulating lid 12 allows the measurement of the thickness of ice to facilitate the knowledge of a thermal storage amount without causing a jet of the unfrozen water 13.
