PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of a transmission capable of rapidly completing shift treatment even when the dynamic characteristics of the selection mechanism of the transmission come out of a standard characteristic range. SOLUTION: This controller of the transmission is so formed that a partial parameter identifier 57 installed in a selection controller performs identification treatment only for a model parameter b1_s1, b2_s1, and disturbance component item c1_s1 on component items related to applied voltage to a selection motor highly related to a variation in the dynamic characteristics of the selection mechanism 40 among model parameters in the model expression of the selection mechanism 40 for each control cycle of a selection controller. A sliding mode controller 55 adds an equivalent control input Ueq_s1 and an arrival rule input Urch_s1 calculated by using b1_s1, b2_s1, and c1_s1 identified by a partial parameter identifier 57 to calculate an indicated value Vs1 of the applied voltage to the selection motor.
