PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-based coating material composition comprising an acrylic resin/benzoguanamine resin-based water dispersion which is stable in water and capable of forming a coating film excellent in crosslinking ability, processability, corrosion resistance, or the like. SOLUTION: This water-based coating material composition comprises an aqueous resin dispersion (C) obtained by polymerizing an unsaturated monomer mixture (B) comprising a carboxyl group-containing unsaturated monomer, a hydroxy group-containing unsaturated monomer and another unsaturated monomer in an organic solvent containing a benzoguanamine resin (A) to provide a resin composition, neutralizing the resin composition with a basic compound and dispersing the neutralized resin composition into water.
