PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counterweight and a car of an elevator, further reducing noise and rocking generated in elevating operation. SOLUTION: A spoiler 20C, which is formed flat on the hall side of a hoistway and semi-spherical on the other side, is provided on the upper and lower sides of a car elevated in the reverse direction to the counterweight in the hoistway, a steep spoiler 20D is provided on the top of each spoiler 20C, and an air streamline plate 20E covering the side surface except the hall side of the car and provided with a plurality of grooves 20a formed in the vertical direction is provided between the upper and lower spoilers 20C.
