PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holder holding a held member by changing quantity of fluid in a chamber and preventing leakage of the fluid without specially providing a device to supply the fluid to the chamber formed on a holding part. SOLUTION: This holder 1 is furnished with: a first chamber 12 having the holding part 10 to be held by a holding device on one end and the holding part 30 to hold the held member on the other end; an inserting hole 31 formed on the holding part 30 and free to insert the held member into it; a second chamber 33 formed on a wall part 32 to partition the inserting hole 31; a communicating passage 40 to communicate the first chamber 12 with the second chamber 33; and the fluid 50 movably filled in both chambers 12, 33 and the communicating passage 40. The holder is used to hold the held member by contracting the first chamber 12, moving the fluid 50 in the first chamber 12 to the second chamber 33 through the communicating passage 40, and extending the second chamber by holding the holding part 10 by the holding device.
