MASTER SETTING METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RING NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master setting method and apparatus for a ring network in which transmission efficiency can be improved if a node to which reception traffic is concentrated is present. SOLUTION: In the master setting method for the ring network wherein adjacent nodes are connected by a bidirectional transmission line comprised of a line to right and a line to left, the number of node hops on the line to right from a node designated as a main station to each of nodes and the number of node hops on the line to left are counted and a node wherein the number of node hops on the line to right and the number of node hops on the line to left are equal or any one of them is smaller just by 1, is set as a master node.
