PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayered structure constituted of a plurality of nano-scale particle-containing layers obtained by simple operation, especially a photocatalytic multilayered structure, which is characterized in that the surface thereof develops the control capacity of water wetting properties (hydrophilic properties and hydrophobic properties) and/or photocatalytic activity over a long period of time by the irradiation with light and excellent in durability, without requiring a complicated process. SOLUTION: The multilayered structure is formed of a modified nano-scale particle composition (C) containing modified nano-scale particles (A), which are obtained by modifying nano-scale particles (a) with a modifier compound (b) selected from compounds having an organosilane structural unit, and a binder component (B) of which the surface energy is larger than that of the modified nano-scale particles (A).
