<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high intensity discharge lamp, a high intensity discharge lamp house having a great cooling effect, and a high intensity discharge lamp house housing device capable of reducing the possibility of intrusion of bubbles into a mercury tank even when a discharge space of the high intensity discharge lamp is used in a nearly horizontal form. <P>SOLUTION: This high intensity discharge lamp M is formed into a shape wherein an angle formed by a plane passing the axis of a bent tube part 21a of the high intensity discharge lamp M having straight tube parts 21b, 21b having a pair of discharge electrodes 23L and 23R at both ends by interposing a discharge space 22 at the middle part of a tube body 21, and the bent tube part 21a formed by shaping the discharge space 22 in the middle part of the tube body 21 into a generally bent tube like form, and a plane passing the axis of the straight tube parts 21b, 21b is formed in a tilted shape so as to be set at a predetermined angle. This high intensity discharge lamp house and this high intensity discharge lamp house housing device are so structured that the bent tube part 21a of the high intensity discharge lamp M is housed in a lamp house having a plurality of holes for supplying cooling water on the bottom of a nearly annular groove used as a cooling water passage to cool the bent tube part 21a and the straight tube parts 21b, 21b through the plurality of holes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
