PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that setting menus of direct print and DPOF function separately exist although items to be set (such as image selection, number of prints and paper size) are approximately the same, and a user interface is hard to be comprehended by an operator.

SOLUTION: A digital camera includes a display control section for displaying a print instruction picture on a display section and a detection section for detecting whether or not it is in communicating with an external print control apparatus, and the display control section differs the print instruction picture displayed on the display section in accordance with the result of the detection conducted by the detection section.
